Picture from a postcard (late 1960s, I think, as the railway lines have been removed).
The present shop is the white building opposite the railway station entrance.
At that time the shop occupied the flat-roofed single storey building on the right of the picture.

Probably the most interesting part of this picture is the beached boat. I'm told that the boat was holed at sea, didn't sink and so was towed intact to the shallow waters and beached at high tide. It remained upright and was successfully repaired and re-floated.
